The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is a pale lemon colored wine that highlights bright aromatics of passionfruit, guava, lemongrass, lemon curd and gooseberry. The palate is bright and yet mouth-filling, with flavors of crisp ripe apple, prickly pear and white peach, while minerality drives the bright acidity. The creamy texture leads to a clean, long finish leaving you with mouth watering lingering notes.
Camp 4 Vineyard is situated on the eastern most edge of the Santa Ynez Valley and serves as the gateway into Happy Canyon. The vineyard is home to 18 varietals focusing on Rhone and Bordeaux, providing an ideal micro-climate with a long growing season and maximum flavor development. The sandy-loam soil aids in producing high quality wine grapes. We pride our vineyard on the perfect balance of quality and quantity with the focus on sustainable farming.
The 2019 vintage brought on slightly cooler weather and more of an abundance of rain in comparison to the 2018 vintage. We saw a later kickoff to budbreak, bloom, and flowering due to the lower temperatures with another mild frost season. The mildew pressures were at an all-time high than we've seen in many years due to the rain and lower temperatures. The summer and fall months were similar to 2018, with heat spikes in early September. Harvest started a little later than in 2018, and seemed to last longer overall. The results were slightly below average yields with a good quality vintage that shows a great expression of the vintage.

We love the brightness in this wine balanced with the minerality for a range of pairing ideas. Some of our favorites include a chilled tomato gazpacho in the summer, honey garlic prawns in coconut milk served with rice and grilled veggie and swordfish
tacos. Any light and fresh food will pair perfectly with this wine and accentuate its delicate and beautiful flavors.
